What is the Strength Club?

Strength, taught properly. Once a week, on purpose.

The Strength Club is a small, live online class where you learn how to get strong: how to move well, how to lift safely, and how to progress with confidence.

There's no jumping around and no breathless circuits. It's simply strength, taught with care, with options to stand, sit or use support whenever you need.

It runs once a week so it fits alongside the walking, swimming, yoga, golf or dancing you already love. Strength is what helps you keep doing all of them.

Who it's for

Built for 60+. Open to everyone.

New to lifting

You've never picked up a weight, or you're not sure where to start. We begin with the basics and build from there.

Coming back

You've had a break, an injury or a tough few years, and you want to rebuild your strength and confidence safely.

Already active

You walk, swim or do yoga, and you want the strength to keep doing it for decades to come.

How it works

Simple, steady, supported.

  • Monthly membership, live on Google Meet every Thursday
  • 6-week blocks, each with a new focus, with a week off after every block (already built into your monthly price)
  • New to the club? You'll start with a short "Start Here" session on the basics, then join any week
  • Can't make it live? You'll get the replay to do in your own time
  • Minimal equipment: a wall, a sturdy chair, a step, a broomstick, a yoga mat and an elastic band
  • Steady progression, from bodyweight to confidently lifting
  • Options for every body: standing, seated or supported

Your coach

Hi, I'm Karima

For over a decade I've helped adults rebuild their strength after pain, illness, injury or long periods of inactivity, including many in their 70s and 80s.

My approach is calm, practical and encouraging. I'll always meet you exactly where you are. It's never too late, or too early, to get stronger.

Questions

Good to know

I've never lifted a weight. Is this for me?

Yes. You'll begin with a short "Start Here" session on the basics, and we build up gradually from there. Every movement has easier options, and you'll never be pushed beyond what feels right for you.

I have an injury or health condition. Can I join?

Very often, yes. Tell me about it when you sign up and I'll let you know honestly whether the class is right for you. If you're unsure, check with your GP or doctor first.

What equipment do I need?

A wall, a sturdy chair, a step, a broomstick, a yoga mat and an elastic band. You'll also need a little floor space and a phone, tablet or computer that can open Google Meet.

What if I miss a class?

Every class is recorded and the replay is sent to you, so you can catch up whenever suits you.

What happens in the break weeks?

There's no live class. It's a chance to rest and let your body catch up with your progress. Break weeks are already built into the monthly price, so you pay the same every month.

What time is it where I live?

4pm UK, 5pm Central Europe, 10am Chicago, 11am New York. Your calendar invite will show the time in your own time zone.
